Obituary for Delirene Amundgaard

Delirene Amundgaard passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, MN at the age of 84.

Delirene Anderson was born on March 5, 1919 in Waskish, MN, the daughter of Anton and Lillian (Selle) Anderson. She was raised in Waskish and rural Stephen, MN. Delirene graduated from Stephen High School and Bemidji State University. After she completed her education, she taught school in Halma, MN and Argyle, MN. On June 9, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ben Amundgaard at Argyle. They made their home in Argyle until moving to Warren in 1956. Ben died on April 2, 1991.

She was a member of the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church where she was active with the ladies group, Sunday School program and the choir. Delirene was also a member of the Art Circle, Mother’s Club and the Busy Bees Homemakers.

Left to mourn her passing are her children; Lillian (Mark) Sather of Lakeville, MN, David (Mary Sue) Amundgaard of Kalispell, MT and John (Sue) Amundgaard of Warren, MN. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Daniel, Erik, Amy, Benjamin, Gretchen, Kristin, Matthew, Lisa and Sarah, brother, Harold (Dolly) Anderson of Greenbush, MN, two sisters-in-law; Sally Anderson of Warren, MN and Marie Anderson of Richfield, MN and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Lawrence, Jim and Vernon.
