David B. Murphy, 64, of Cambridge passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at his home. He was born in Cambridge on August 27, 1944 and was a son of the late Reuben and Althea “Bunn” Robinson Murphy.
He graduated from South Dorchester High School class of 1962. Mr. Murphy retired from the State of Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene as a Marine Surveyor in 1999. He was a Director of the Isaak Walton League. Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting and softball. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cambridge and the Cambridge Lodge #1272 BPOE Elks.
He is survived by two daughters Christine Harrison and Terri Parker and her companion Paul Douglas all of Cambridge, two grandchildren Samantha Harrison and P.J. “Peewee” Parker and his girlfriend Brenda Lincoln, a great granddaughter Nicole Lyn Parker, she is due on March 11, 2009, a brother Ernest “Skip” Murphy of Salisbury, one uncle Spark Robinson of Cambridge and several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special companion Valerie Phelps of Trappe and was married to Sandra Adkins Murphy for 40 years.
