David Allen Trangsrud was born August 22, 1950 to Clifford and Blanche Trangsrud. He grew up on a dairy farm in Duxby and attended the Ross school for eight years. He then attended Roseau High School, graduating with the class of 1968.
Following high school, he went on to Crookston where he took flight training and earned his pilot’s license. He developed a lifelong love of flying and enjoyed flying his Stinson aircraft. He began painting water tanks the following summer for Abhe and Svoboda. He and his brother-in-law, Brach Svoboda, started Tenyer Coatings, Inc., painting water towers, dams, and bridges across the United States. They later acquired Larson Tank Company.
Over the years they purchased farm land in Roseau County and eventually phased out of the painting and became a full-time farm operation.
David married Lynette Solberg on June 14, 1980, and their son, Jacob, was born in 1986.
He loved his family, his Savior and Lord, Jesus, the wonder of creation, flying, time with his friends and family, and trips to the Hawaiian Islands.
David was kind, soft hearted and witty and will be greatly missed by his family.
