Daniel “Dan” Mark Scherer passed away on March 2, 2023 at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Scherer nee Hellebusch; mother, Patricia “Pat” Scherer nee Koetter; two daughters, Jessica (Bobby) McKay of St. Peters, MO and Janaca (Fiance’ Alec Tegels) Scherer of St. Louis, MO; brother, Dennis (Shelly) Scherer of Wright City, MO; sister, Rosanne (Matt) McCauley of St. Peters, MO; sister‑in‑law, Cathy Dunn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, George Frank Scherer and brother, Jerry Scherer.
Dan had an extensive career in Waste Water Management; he was active in various organizations and received numerous awards in his career. He was highly involved with the Elk’s Lodges where he resided, often volunteering too cook or help out with other projects. His dedication even earned him an “Elk of the Year Award”. Dan loved to fish, hunt and cheer on all of the Missouri sports teams. He was easy to talk to, quick with a dad joke or a pun and sure to make anything a good time.
