Daniel Michael Fossland, Sr., age 56, of Virginia and formerly of Fayetteville, NC, died Monday, May 9, 2016 in Virginia. He was born September 19, 1959, in Minneapolis, MN the son of Melvin Conrad and Verneil Margaret (Bell) Fossland. He graduated from Blaine High School, and attended Bemidji State University. Daniel was united in marriage to Coralia Ines Ortiz in 1991 in Dillon, South Carolina.
Daniel retired as a Sgt. First Class from a 20 year service with the United States Army Special Forces. He was very devoted to his country and completed all missions all around the world with high regards. He was currently a manager for North Star Pawn in Virginia. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, the VFW and the Elks Club.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Cory; his children: Alexis (Neil) Luukkonen of Buhl, MN, Jorge (Kim) Fossland of Fargo, ND, Jose (Corrina ) Fossland of Gilbert, MN, Jens (Anya) Fossland of Virginia, Daniel M. Fossland, Jr. of Virginia, and Victoria M. Fossland of Virginia; his sister: Patty Sarff of Minneapolis, MN; his brother: Ron (Betty) Fossland of Mora, MN; and nine grandchildren: Ava, Aiden, Levi, Zoleena, Quinn, Kolton, Taylor, Lola, and Lyla; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister: Kathy.
