Daniel Robert was born on December 8, 1958 to Robert John and Rita Valeria (Kruse) Gaffer in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato High School. Dan was self-employed and owned and operated his own welding shop for many years. He enjoyed snowmobiles, cars, mechanics, hunting, drag races, camping and fishing. He loved time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Nathan Gaffer of North Mankato, Adam Gaffer of Nicollet; brothers, Steven R. (Kathy) Gaffer of New Richmond, WI, John S. (Jana) Gaffer of Hudson, WI; sisters, Linda G. (Jon) Paulson of St. Peter, Susan G. (Dana) Franzen of Hawkey, IA, Christine M. (Matt) Newville of Mankato; nieces and nephews, Ashley Bullerman, Tina G, Laura G, Ryan Skaggs, Justin G, Chris Skaggs, Bryan G, Amanda G, Tyrrel G, Corey G, Nerissa Hoag, Natasha G, Ali Fisher, Gabrielle Newville, Sam Newville, Victoria N, Mitchel N; many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy P. Gaffer.
