Dale Stiffler, 78, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2010 from complications following open heart surgery. He was born on July 20, 1931 to Forrest and Mary (Wheeler) Stiffler. In 1951 he married his high school sweetheart, Gladys Trierweiler. She survives him. He retired from Motor Wheel Corporation in 1991.

Dale enjoyed grandchildrens’ sporting events, family campouts, St. Pat’s Shamrocks, winters in Arizona , the Detroit Tigers (except Rodney), casinos, Allis Chalmers tractors, practical jokes, and Coke Slurpees. He was proud of his beautiful family and his meticulous yard and garden. He was the best husband, dad and grandpa that any family could have ever asked for. He brought us nothing but joy and happiness.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; his in-laws Victor and Mathilda Trierweiler; sisters and brothers-in-law Ken Trierweiler, Patty Trierweiler, Jean Trierweiler, Tom Bengel, Barry Sillman, Eileen Burgoyne and Mary Ann Trierweiler; grandchildren Andrew Russell and Heather Stiffler and great-grandson Garrett Goodwin.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Sue (Bob) Van Lente, Cindy (Jerry) Selden, Linda (Kevin) Goodwin, Steve (Geralyn) Stiffler, Doug (Beth) Stiffler, Jerry Stiffler, Sharon (Pat) Lay, Carol (Brian) Russell, Kim (Jerry) Smith and Trina (Dave) Hengesbach; 40 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Another great-grandchild is due in August, and will bring Dale’s total immediate family to 100. In addition, he is survived by siblings Ted (Orpha) Stiffler, Barb (Bob) Hendee and Robert (Connie) Stiffler; in-laws Pat Trierweiler, Charles Trierweiler, Rose Bengel, Butch (Sandy) Trierweiler, Kay Sillman, and Vic (Donna) Trierweiler; brother-in-law Harv (Diana) Burgoyne; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many close friends.
