Cynthia Doherty of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at the age of 65 years.
She is survived by her husband, David Doherty of O’Fallon; two children, David Doherty and wife, Jessie of North Carolina and Melissa Iahn and husband, Joshua of O’Fallon; two grandchildren, Gabriel and Norah Iahn; five siblings, John Zinn and wife, Karen, Frederic Zinn, Jr. and wife, Patte, Ginger Cornelius and husband, Larry, Janet Cipolla and husband, Frank, and Jim Zinn and wife, Chrissy; other relatives, and many friends.
Cynthia Alice Doherty was born December 14, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri; daughter of the late Frederic Lee Zinn, Sr. and wife, Anna Marie Schwein Zinn. She grew up in Webster Groves, Missouri and graduated from Webster Groves High School. She then attended and graduated with honors from Webster University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. She married David Doherty May 19, 1979 and two children were born to this marriage. They made their home in St. Ann, MO before settling in O’Fallon, MO. Cindy worked for Life Skills Foundation, Emmaus Homes, State of Missouri, and CARF (Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.)
She was a member of The Summit Church in O’Fallon; where she joyfully volunteered.
She spent her whole life serving, helping, and loving people in need. She had a devoted love for her husband and children, but her biggest passion in later years was her grandbabies. She enjoyed reading to them, doing crafts, baking, and storytelling.
