This is a memorial for Curtis Barry Brown, who was called home. Even though he left us too soon we will always remember him.
We had many years of marriage, we had our ups and down but we still remained married. Curtis would not want you to remember him as the person was stricken with cancer, but to remember him for his great smile, humerous jokes and how proud he was to be a police officer in his blue uniform. His fellow employees used to call him Crazy Horse, but he will still be missed by his family and a host of friends.
His last few months were very hard on him, but to look at him you would not know that cancer was invading his entire body. He tried to keep a sense of humor. I always told him that I admired his spirit while fighting his disease.
This was a journey that I would not want for anyone to endure. It was very hard, and tearful at times, and the pain to watch the person you spent most of your life with dies a little each day. I told him, and made look into my eyes and listen to what I was saying , that it is alright to let go, I will be fine. I will always be with you, not in the physical world, but in the spiritual word. We will never be apart, and we will be alright.
I will miss you deeply, and so will our children, especially the grandchildren who so loved their Pop-Pop. He was gone, but he will never be forgotten in our hearts.
Loving wife,
Cathy
