Craig Martin Tashjian was born in Detroit, on February 4, 1952, to parents Harry & Jessie Tashjian.
Craig was married to Loraine (Laurie) Rose Ezmerlian on October 14, 1990, and they lived in Walled Lake Michigan for the last 33 years.
He attended K – 12 schools in Detroit and graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.
During and after college, he worked at the National Bank of Detroit until he joined his father in running the newly opened family business, Tash Do-It Center, in Livonia. After his father’s passing, Craig managed the store until a few years later when the family decided to close the business.
Craig then went on to Glidden Paint Company where he successfully managed a branch office until he retired. He was a dedicated employee who took pride in customer service and was respected for his experience and knowledge.
Craig, also known as the “Big Guy” to many of us, was a big sports fan, especially for the Detroit Red Wings where he attended hockey games at the Olympia and Joe Louis Hockey arenas for many years. But his favorite hobby was going to the race track to bet on “the ponies”.
He had an infectious smile, a contagious laugh, and a great sense of humor. He loved to tell stories and enjoyed the Comedy of The Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, and The Three Stooges. He didn’t need much coaxing to imitate or quote a few lines from one of these comedic favorites.
His loving Mother Jessie regarded him as “such a good boy”, I think because he was the easiest of the 3 of us to raise….
Craig was very respectful of Parents, Uncles, Aunts and Grandparents, and appreciated their guidance and advice.
Craig cherished new and lifelong friendships and he was lucky to be loved by so many.
