Connie Jean Cook, 73, of Ionia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2010. She was born on Oct. 23, 1936, the youngest of eight children, to Claude and Bessie (Misner) Clark. Connie married Joseph A. Cook of Pewamo on Oct. 5, 1957, at S.S. Peter & Paul Church of Ionia. He preceded her in death on Nov. 14, 1959.
Connie was a hard-working, single mother of two; the mother of Gregory (Kathleen) Cook and Diane (Joe) Davis. Throughout the years, she held many work positions, including jobs at Fred’s, Kroger, Eberhard’s and Whipples.
Surviving are her two children, and five grandchildren: Ally, Mattie, Ellen and Margot Cook and Chelsea Davis, all of Ionia. Connie had a very large and loving family, but she especially appreciated the lifelong support and friendship of her sister, Shirley (James) Miller and her family, as well as her niece Sally (Jack) Eilar and family. Also surviving are sisters Helen Loucks of Ionia and Esther (George) Kutras of Redding, Calif., and may special nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers “Hap” and “Bud” Clark, sisters Evelyn and Margie, as well as a close nephew and godson, Paul Miller.
