CONCETTA MARIE (LAPOMARDA) ALIBERTI
Connie Aliberti age 100 Passed away peacefully at Pine Point Center in Scarborough on January 23rd 2016. Born in Portland, Maine March 08 1915 to Lorenzo Lapomarda and Maria(Marrone) Lapomarda.
Connie attended grammar School at St. Dominic’s and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1933. Following graduation Connie was employed at Rines Brothers in Portland.
On September 17, 1939, she married Joseph. A. Aliberti. Over the years they lived in Portland, Rumford and Cape Elizabeth. Together they raised three children.
After raising her family Connie returned to the work force, joining the former Maine Savings Bank and in 1973 was appointed Vice President. Connie was the first female officer of the Bank an accomplishment she was humbly proud of. She retired in 1977.
Connie was predeceased by her parents, her husband of 56 years, three brothers Vincent(Jimmy) Joseph and Frank ,and a sister Nancy Brogan.
She is survived by two daughters. Margaret Morin of Old Orchard Beach, Marie Pamela Aliberti of Saco and a son Joseph A. Aliberti Jr. and his wife Judy Hotham of Fountain Hills, Arizona. She was a very proud and committed Grandmother and Great Grandmother of Mark Damon and his wife Debbie of Westbrook, Melanie Stinson and her husband Bob of Gorham, Stephanie Markowski and her husband Vince of Lancaster NY and Adam Aliberti and his wife Sarah of West Roxbury MA. Great grandchildren, Madison Damon, Bronson Damon, Benjiman and Luke Stinson. Catherine Markowski, Lorenzo Markowski and Avelina Aliberti. Connie is also survived by a sister Michelena Cook Sheehan of Brunswick, as well as many nieces and nephews. Connie was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Connie will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of enjoying her warm considerate, understanding, passionate care for others.
The family would like to thank all of the dedicated professionals at Pine Point Center for the assistance and care they provided for Connie over the past Three years, as well as the staff, volunteers and caregivers of Compassus Hospice.
