Clyde Wagenbach, age 90, a longtime resident of Babbitt, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011, with his family by his side in St. Michael’s Health and Rehabilitation Center in Virginia. He was born March 7, 1921, in Barron, WI. He was the son of Phillip and Ethel (Gregory) Wagenbach and was a graduate of Remer High School. Clyde married Bernice Koski on November 13, 1971, and was a United States Navy Veteran of WWII. He was employed as a machinist in a paper mill in Franklin, VA, farmed in Remer, and worked as a heavy equipment operator for Erie Mining Company until his retirement. Clyde was a member of the Babbitt VFW Post # 1539 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing.
Clyde is survived by his wife Bernice; children: Clifford (Jeanne) Wagenbach of Tower, Sandy (Tracey) Harmon of Wisconsin, Kathleen (Frank) Siskar of Tower, Bonnie (Ed) Rosa of New Mexico, Steven (Tammy) Wagenbach of Farmington, Alan (Laurie) Wagenbach of Duluth, and Brian (Louann) Wagenbach of Babbitt; stepchildren: Theresa (Glen) Leidich of VA., Darlene (Dan) Swanson of FL., Beverly Blitch of TX, Harold (Cindy) Koski of Zimmerman, MN, Kathleen Childs of Rogers, AR, and Pamela (Frank) Schultz of Biwabik; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, eleven siblings, and three grandchildren.
