Clifton “Conk” Leeman, 80, passed away suddenly on November 11, 2013 at his home in Whitefield. Born on August 10, 1933, he was the son of Floyd and Bertha (Sprague) Leeman. Conk grew up in Round Pond and attended local schools, before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force and serving honorably during the Korean Conflict. Upon his honorable discharge, he came home and started working for many different companies. Over the years, he worked at Hunt Brothers Lumber, Hagar Enterprises, North Country Wind Bells and Hussey’s Hardware. He also worked for Dick Storer, helped his brother fish, and most recently worked for Midcoast Energy and Country Manor.
