Clara Laurine Blake, 91, of International Falls, MN, died, Monday, May 7, 2007 in the Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls. She was born December 29, 1915 to Fred and Mary (Sweigard) Holst in St. Francis, MN. Following graduation she attended teacher’s school. She taught school at St. Francis area for a few years and at the Border School for a few years until she married Laverne Blake on June 21, 1946.
Clara was a homemaker and worked on the farm for many years.
Clara was an active member of the Birchdale Congregational Church and a member of the Ladies Aid.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Laverne Blake and her brother, Fredrick Holst.
Survivors include her son, Howard Schake of Loman, MN; her sister, Lucille (Arlo) Peterson of Isanti, MN; her grandchildren, Carolyn (Bruce) Graves of International Falls, MN; Stephanie (Warren) Wilson of Bemidji, MN; Holly (Chuck) Wilson of Cando, ND; and Jeff Schake of Grand Forks, ND; her great grandchildren, Bobbi, Brandon, Chas, Cassidi, Tayler, Crystal, Heather, Joshua and Tiana; and her great great grandson, Nash.
