Clara ” Polly” Inabinette, born in Alex City , AL to David and Mary Funderburk on October 17, 1937. Polly worked as an LPN for 22 years but her love of caring for others went beyond the realm of vocation, it was her passion. She moved to the coastal area in 1980 to be near family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and reading the Bible. She was a champion for the underdogs in life. She loved animals and couldn’t resist taking them in. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gautier and Light of Yahshua Ministries. The cruel thief, known as Alzheimer’s, slowly robbed this once beautiful and vibrant lady of many things; leaving her frail, and in a silent world that no one could break through. But we remember not the shadow she became but the victor and overcomer she was.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Pete Funderburk; son-in-law, Rick Heflin; a great-grandchild, Brittney Heflin.
She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Heflin of Gautier, MS; a son Victor Messer of Tallassee, AL; sister, Geraldine, “Gerry”Bullard of Gautier, MS.; grandchildren, Joey Heflin (Linda), John Heflin (Angie), Clifton Heflin, Sherry Deakle, Breiana Martin , Robert and Zachary Messer; great grandchildren, Whitney, Kerry, Christian, Gabriel, Chase, Landon, Savannah, Brendee, Arin and R.J., Bubba; great-great-grandchildren, Kayliana and Kinsley; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
