Christopher L. Kellington was born on July 12, 1988, and passed away on June 27, 2021 in Binalonan, Philippines.
Christopher grew up in Minnesota with two loving parents and was the youngest of four brothers. Chris was struck by a car and sustained a traumatic brain injury as a child. He overcame obstacles beyond his doctor’s prognosis, yet he is thought of as the brainiac of the family by his siblings. Christopher graduated with the Class of 2006 from Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria, Minnesota.
Christopher was a natural comedian. He loved to make people laugh. One of his favorite quotes from Arnold Schwarzenegger was “Get to the Choppa”. Chris had a gigantic heart. He was a deep thinker and a great problem solver. He had a natural gift for empathizing with others, reading people’s emotions, and exuded a thoughtful, caring disposition for everyone he interacted with.
6 years ago, Chris left home to actualize his vision to achieve the goals he set for himself. He reunited with his fiancé, Evelyn, in the Philippines. Together they created a new life.
Chris loved to travel, and he has been all over the world. He particularly loved the history and culture of the Philippines. In the Philippines, Chris was known as “mang kano” (a slang word for an American man, conveying respect) based on his sheer size and stature. As a result, Mang Kano was the name of the restaurants he opened with Evelyn. They offered American and Italian food, mixed in with Filipino cuisine to local patrons. They regularly donated groceries and food from the restaurants to their local community members in need. Christopher earned the respect from the police and was able to secure a volunteer position as President of the Foreign Nationals in the Philippines. More importantly, Chris wanted to be a father and six months ago he became a father to Ethan Lucas Kellington.
Christopher is preceded in death and is now joined with his Grandma Dorothea and Uncle Gary – on his mother’s side. On his father’s side, Chris is now joined with his great grandparents, Hanna and Russel Hoffman. Christopher is also preceded in death by his friend Jason Schatzlein, who he had a special spiritual connection with.
Christopher is survived by his son, Ethan Lucas Kellington and his fiancé Evelyn Ramos. His parents, Jacqueline and Charles Kellington; brothers: Chad, Ryan, and Jacob; and grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
