Charlotte J. Mank, 72, of Richmond, passed away at the Heritage Rehab and Living Center in Winthrop on October 7th, 2013. Born on July 28th 1941, she was the daughter of Harvey and Georgia (Waugh) Doop. Charlotte grew up in Weskan, Kansas, attending local schools and graduating from Weskan High School. She then went on to nursing school and get her nursing degree. She would start a family in Kansas before moving to Colorado. While in Kansas and Colorado, she worked as a waitress and chambermaid. In 1970, she moved to Maine with her husband Edwin Mank, and the couple made their home in Damariscotta for six years. She would later moved to Richmond, where she remained until her death. While in Maine, she worked for the Etonic Shoe factory and the Eastland Shoe factory in Freeport. She was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as past President of post 132 in Richmond. She enjoyed knitting, reading, collecting platters and stuffed bears, and was a huge fan of Elvis Presley. More than anything though, she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Mank; as well as a brother, David Doop. She is survived by her three sons, J.D. Falkingham of Greenfield, MO, Bruce Mank of Germany, and Austin Mank of Gardiner; step-daughter, Carol Small of Warren; as well as 16 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
