Charles A. “Sonny” Murray, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, formerly of Denton, MD, passed away on January 20, 2016, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Baltimore. He was 56 years old. Born in Easton, MD on October 7, 1959, Sonny was the son of Fayetta Boston Murray Downes of Denton and the late Charles Alton Murray, Sr. He was a 1977 graduate of North Caroline High School. For the past eighteen years, he had been an Educational Teacher’s Assistant (ETA) at the St Vincent’s School in Baltimore. In his early years, he was a member of the Union Bethel AME Church in Denton. In addition to his mother and his step father, Ernest Downes of Denton, Sonny is survived by his wife, Machella “Peanut” Murray of Baltimore; his daughter, Lyaci G. Dukes of Prince George’s County, MD; a sister, Robin Murray of Baltimore; a brother, Curtis Murray of Denton; and a grandchild, Kayleigh Grace Martine.
