Mr. Schafer is survived by his father, Henry “Jerry” Schafer of Vermillion, SD, mother, Donna Schafer (nee Long) of Vermillion, SD, wife, Cindy Schafer (nee Capalao) of Wentzville, MO, son, Henry Wyatt Schafer of Wentzville, MO, daughter, Madeline Schafer of Wentzville, daughter, Lillie Schafer of Wentzville, brother, Jonathan Schafer of Lodi, CA, sister, Mary (Jeff) Gemar of Chatham, IL, sister, Catherine LaValliere of Sioux Falls, SD, sister, Cynthia (Ron) Solberg of Du Val, WA, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was married on June 29, 1996 in Fauquier, Virginia. He attended Wentzville Christian Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy. Worked as a loan officer at Providence Bank in St. Peters. In addition to being an avid swimmer and runner, he was an official at swim meets for his children’s swim team. He loved to watch his daughter’s swim. In addition to the services in Missouri, there will be a memorial service: November 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm, at Faith Fellowship Church in Vermillion, South Dakota.
