Charles Robert Leick of Davisville, Missouri passed away Sunday morning, February 4, 2007 one day after his 93rd birthday at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri from complications following heart surgery.

 

Judge Leick, as he was affectionately known in the community, served two terms as Crawford County Associate Circuit Judge. He was born in Crookston, Minnesota on February 3, 1914. The family later moved to Sioux City, Iowa and eventually to the St. Louis area where he completed his education. He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1938. He had served of counsel to Mazzei and Broshot Attorneys at Law in Steelville for over 20 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Yocom Leick who died in 1999. He is survived by his brother, Jack Leick of Kirkwood, Missouri; his four children, Jeanne Reiss, M.D. and husband Scott Myers of Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Leick and wife Janet of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Roger Leick and wife Marlene of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mary Kay Leick-Rude and husband Phil Rude of Overland Park, Kansas; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-daughter, Judy Richards of California; three step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren,.

 

Charles lived on a cattle ranch on Crabtree Road in Davisville, Missouri for over 40 years. Previously he was an officer in several surety service companies in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Akron, Ohio and finally Davisville. His activities, along with his wife included supporting the Disabled Citizens Alliance for Independence and the Show-Me State Heritage Association. Charles’ passion for railroads and trains led him to be an avid model railroad enthusiast and an international traveler. His travels took him and his wife to Russia, China and Europe.
