Charles Jerry Cassidy, 85, of Steelville, MO passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born August 27, 1922 at Keysville, MO to Charles Logan Cassidy and Augusta Catherine (Parrett) Cassidy. He was married to Betta (Cummings) and to this union seven children were born.
Charles will be sadly missed by his two sons, Dave Cassidy and wife Neva and Osten Cassidy all of Steelville, MO; five daughters, Pam Pennock and husband Larry and Martha Harmon and husband Steve all of Steelville, MO, Ann Cassidy and Pat Rickard and husband Frank all of Owensville, MO and Donna King and husband Mike of St. Peters, MO; two sisters, Marceline Brumley of Steelville, MO and Evelyn Moss and husband Harley of Fort Scott, KS; thirteen grandchildren, Angie (Allan) Monda, Scott (Tricha) Cassidy, Melody (Alan) Ward, Lavada (Roger) Achurch, Tammy (David) Hills, Michael (Lisa) King, Amy (Vincent) Cepeda, Chelsey King, Eva Harmon, Steven (Shaline) Harmon, Nathan Cassidy, Nicholes Cassidy and Nicole Cassidy; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Rachel, Lynnsie, Abby, Justin, Taylor, Miranda, Kerissa, Shantel, Serena and Kaeden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother in-law, Ray Brumley.
Charles was in the U.S. Army and served in WW II from 1943 to 1945 where he was stationed in Italy and North Africa. He spent most of his life farming.
