After Charles was discharged from the service he farmed near Badger for the remainder of his life. He and Lila Mae Haaby were united in marriage on March 10, 1949. To this marriage four children were born, Sandra, Gail, Gary and Bruce. He was a member of the Badger V.F.W. and a member of the Badger Creek Free Lutheran Church. Charles especially enjoyed old time jamborees and dancing.
Charles passed away on December 14, at his home in Badger. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his four children, Bruce of Badger, Gail (Glen) Haugen of Badger, Gary of North Bend, Nebraska, and Sandra (David) Bridges of Williams; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers Sanford (Olive) Foss of Badger, Lawrence Foss of International Falls, MN and Florence Skogstad of International Falls. He is preceded in death by his wife Lila, brother Orville Foss, and brother-in-law John Skogstad.
