Brunswick- Cecile A. Belanger, of Pollard Ave, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Tuesday July 13th, at Maine Medical Center, Portland. She was born in Brunswick on the 31st of January, 1924, the daughter of Lewis and Rose Martin Laffely. She grew up there and graduated from Brunswick High School. She married Romeo E. Belanger on June 2, 1947 at St. John”s the Baptist Church. For many years, she was a homemaker who raised her family, something that was very important to her, there wasn”t anything she wouldn”t do for them. When her children were older she went to work for Healthtex, as a seamstress, at Fort Andro”s and moved with the company to Church Road, retiring in the early 80”s.
Cecile was a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, a brownie troop #48 leader, a member of the Emblem Club and was involved in scouting with her boys.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Romeo Sr. and her son Charles Belanger.
Cecile is survived by her son Romeo Belanger Jr. and his wife Billie Lyn of Topsham, a brother; Leon Laffely and a sister; Eva Allard, 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, along with many, many friends. She will be sadly missed by all the hearts that she has touched.
