Always in our hearts
Catherine May became our guardian angel on March 19 2022. She had many family members by her side in her final days. Born December 18 1934 she was raised in Gray new Gloucester where she met and married the love of her life James may Jr. they were married 60 years, together they had six children, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Catherine worked as a stitcher for Auburn shoe for 20 years. After retiring she had her grandchildren over as often as she could and enjoyed helping take care of the littlest ones. Being a natural caregiver she helped take care of her father before he passed away, and when her husband came down with Alzheimer’s she cared for him until the end. Catherine and James loved to spend their anniversaries at Somerset resort in Rockland.
