Catherine Anne Cromwell (nee Stewart), 48, of Olney, Maryland, devoted wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away peacefully from respiratory failure due to complications from lupus, on July 12th at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Education, and was passionate about her family and friends, a passion that translated to a great love of, and expertise in, family genealogy. She loved history, music, travel and old architecture, and before she became ill, spent as much free time as she could at the Stewart cottage in Sandy Point, Maine.
Catherine was an administrative assistant with the Military Archdiocese of Washington, D.C. for a number of years prior to getting married and helping raise her family. She is survived by her husband, Francis M. Cromwell of Olney; her two children, Olivia-Leigh and Christopher Cromwell, both of Olney; her father, Wilson M. Stewart, of Sandy Point, Maine; her mother, Barbara Gray of Cathedral City, California; and her sister, Laurie Oland, of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and we will forever hold her in our hearts.
