Carrol Skoien, 77, of Pencer, MN, died, Saturday August, 20, 2005 in the Greenbush Community Nursing Home. He was born June 28, 1928 in Malung Township to Anton and Annie (Carlson) Skoien. Carrol attended school in the Evans School and finished at the Pencer School. Carrol was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1954 to 1956. He married Dorothy Nelson June 4, 1968 in Sisseton, SD. He was employed at Polaris in the maintenance department and worked on the farm fixing anything mechanical for himself and all of the neighbors. During his later years he worked for Allen Carlson at Carlson Lumber, working on the sawmill. His hobbies included his garage, tinkering; inventing new things and checking on the local farms twice a day driving around the country side in his green pick-up truck. Carrol was a member of the VFW. A special thank you to the care givers at Greenbush Community Nursing Home for their tender care during Carrol’s last few months. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Dorothy in 1984; his brothers, Alvin and Elmer Skoien.

He is survived by his sister, Doris Stromstead of International Falls, MN; his brother, George (Doris) Skoien of Pencer, MN; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
