Carole Haarsager, 87, of Crookston, MN, formerly of Broomfield, CO and Hunter, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Riverview Memory Care in Crookston.

Carole Marjorie Lane was born on July 4, 1933 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Cecil and Marjorie (Topp) Lane. She was raised in Fargo, ND and she graduated from Fargo Central High School. On January 1, 1960, she was united in marriage to Curtis Haarsager at Immanual Lutheran Church in Fargo. They made their home in Fargo until they moved to Hunter in 1974. Curtis died Oct. 21, 1977. Carole moved to Broomfield, CO where she lived until moving to the Riverview Memory Care in 2016. Carole worked at several places during her working career including First National Bank, Fargo Security State Bank, Hunter United Bank, Broomfield Jones Intercable and Broomfield State Bank.

Over the years, Carole belonged to the Eastern Star in Fargo and Homemakers in Hunter and attended the Lutheran church in where she resided. She enjoyed sewing and knitting when she was younger and being in Bridge Club. As she got older, she liked playing cards on the computer. Most important to her was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, David Haarsager of Seattle, WA, Karen Poverud of Hunter, ND, Jean Williams of Westminster, CO and Jon (Dianne) Haarsager of Westminster, CO; eight grandchildren, Brooke (Jeff) Wilson, Aubrey (Michael Jones) Cuin, Connor Williams, Britney (Austin) Stowe, Sabrina Nanstiel, Julie Rittmann and Erich Rittmann; eight great-grandchildren, Rylee, Cody, Will, Leah, Madisyn, Kaiden, Wyatt and Christian; sisters, Joyce Paquet, Dawn Reece.

She was preceded in death by her mom, Marjorie Klessig; father, Cecil Lane; stepfather, Chuck Klessig; husband, Curtis; and sister, Susan Klessig.
