Carol Ann Wilks Proper, age 68, of Pascagoula passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at her residence in the arms of her family. She was born Aug. 23, 1952 in Pascagoula as the youngest child of 8 and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1971. Carol devoted her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed being a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and especially a Nana.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hezzie Arthur Wilks and Lola Broome Wilks; three brothers, Billy Wilks, Mann Wilks, and Ronnie “BoBo” Wilks; two sisters, Helen Olier and Peggy Howard; infant grandchild that she lovingly called “Peanut”.
Carol Ann is survived by her husband of 46 years, Art Proper, Pascagoula; daughter and son-in-law, Angela Proper Harris and Jeffrey Harris, Pascagoula; brother, J.R. Wilks (Diane), Williamsburg, VA; sister, Jimmie Sue Hanning, Pascagoula; two grandchildren that she adored, Jace Harris and Bennett Harris.
