Age 88, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 with his family by his side. He was born on April 20, 1927 the son of Joseph and Ida (Spitzley) Fox. Carl was a member of St. Jospeh Church in Pewamo, served in the U.S. Army and a member of the V.F.W. Post #3733. He was very involved with P-W athletics, enjoyed bowling, playing on the Pewamo baseball team and graduated from Pewamo High School. Carl worked for the Ionia Co. Sheriff Department as a Deputy Sheriff for 51 years, served as a Councilman in the Village of Pewamo and was always willing to help out on various jobs around Pewamo. He was known to be a “jack of all trades” and for helping those in need. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Schneider; brothers William and Stanley Fox; daughter-in-law, Tammy (Thelen) Fox. Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Carol; children: Linda Pung of Lansing, Shirley (Gary) Martin of Portland, Deborah (Tayra Doreste) Fox of Colorado, James (Linda) Fox of Portland and Bruce Fox of Fowler;
10 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; siblings Celester “Stretch” (Virginia) Fox, Dolores (Roy) Kramer, Dick (Cheryl) Fox, Ambrose (Cathy) Fox and Mark Fox; sister-in-law, Theresa Fox; many nieces and nephews.
