Murray F. Roberts, Jr., 77 passed away on November 16, 2015 at home with his family by his side.

He was born in Haverhill, MA on August 19, 1938 the son of the late Alberta and Murray Roberts Sr. He was the beloved husband of Barbara McGlinchey Roberts. He leaves behind his four children, Peter and Cindy Roberts of Florida, Cindy and Tom King of South Portland, Dale and Sethany Roberts of Saco and Diane and Kenny Dahms of Westbrook along with eight grandchildren, Denielle, Andrea, Michael, Brian, Nathan, Matthew, Adrianna and Kailynn and five great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many special friends including those at Turning Point.

Murray spent his childhood on Peaks Island. He graduated from Portland High School, class of 1956. He served several years with the Maine National Guard out of the Old Milk Street Armory.

He entered the Portland Fire Department in 1964, retiring as a Captain after twenty years of service.

Following retirement, he enjoyed several years working for the Portland Sea Dogs.

His greatest passion in his life was following High School football. He was especially proud of his time as past president of the PHS football boosters. He looked forward to the annual Thanksgiving Day Game rivalry between his alma mater PHS and cross town rival Deering.

He also enjoyed hunting and fishing at his camp in Rangeley.
