Age 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in Grand Rapids, MI. He was born on January 5, 1920, the only child of Lester Emory and Florence “Ilo” (Gilliland) Lampman. He married Alice Loraine Hoy in 1942 and she preceded him in death in 1996. He married Ruth Clara (Woodard) Harwood in 1997. He retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections in 1981. Burdette was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, and a charter member of the Sheridan V.F.W. Post #5065. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth; sons, Lee (Kortne) and Steve Lampman, both of Ionia; grandchildren Wil (Katrina) Lampman and Kara (Alec) Egizi; great grandchildren, Griffen and Samantha Lampman; step children, Alice I. Yenchar of Fenwick, Jean R. (Roger) Cronk of Woodland, Lynn C. (Cathy) Harwood of Richmond, Va, Linda M. (David) Davenport of North Branch, MI, Helen M. (Tom) Hall of Bellevue, MI, Keith W. Harwood of Ionia, and Bryan R. Harwood of Fenwick; 17 step grandchildren.
