Johnson, Brian Keith Age 62, of Maple Plain, died in a tragic accident on September 16, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Roy C. and Eleanore E. Johnson. Brian was a graduate of Wayzata High School, an accomplished engineer and founded Datum-A-Industries, Inc. in 1981 where he served as President and Owner. He built a thriving business contributing significantly to the community and allowing him to provide generously for his family. Above all Brian was a family man, with a deep uncompromising love for his Wife, Son, Grandchildren, Siblings and his extended family. He loved children and they loved him. At family events he could always be found playing and joking around with his nieces and nephews. He had the deepest of love for his grandchildren, unfortunately leaving their lives far too soon. A child at heart, his humor was boundless. He was a member of the “Ministry of Funny Walks”. He was an avid collector of classic cars and nostalgia, loving anything mechanical. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing, trail-riding on ATVs and snowmobiles, while always appreciating the grandness of nature. The time he spent at his second home on Swan Lake gave him the opportunity to be close to his outdoor passions. Brian will be missed profoundly by many, including his wife, Debra Wright; son, Jason Johnson of Greenwood; daughter-in-law, Molly; and his two grandchildren, Evan and Leighton; Deb’s son, Jess; daughter, Jenny (Geoff); and grandson, Booney; siblings, Ron (Fran) of Spooner WI, Darrel (Judy) of Mtka, Kerry (Trish) of Maple Grove, Greg (Kim) of Elk River, Curt of Elk River, Cheryl Mickelson (Tom) of Brooklyn Center; former wife, Diane of Mpls; as well as all of his nieces and nephews; his trusted team at Datum-A-Ind. and his dear friends everywhere.
