Faust,Brian E., age 94 of St. Anthony Village. Preceded in death by spouses Ruth (Pahl) and Mary Sue (Green); infant son, John Brian Faust; parents and parents-in-law, Edmund and Evelyn (Fernow) Faust and Richard and Margaret (Kopp) Pahl. Also preceded in death by brothers, Jim, Bill and Bob Faust; Sisters-in-law, Peg and Marian Faust and Lorraine Pahl brothers-in-law, Roger, Tom and Norman Pahl.
Survived by daughters, Patricia Breed (Jim), Deb Livingston (Greg); sons, Mike (Sue), Tim (Chris), Dan (Becky), and Greg (Denise) Faust; grandchildren, Leah Miller (Danny), Nicole Boos (Sean), Stefan (Julie), Amanda Williams (Ric), Adam Faust, Bethany Mueller (Chad), Joe Faust (Taryn) and Erika Faust; great-grandchildren, Brian, Brooks and Evelyn Miller, Bryar and Bella Boos, Owen Baumgartner, Dominic Mueller, Broden, Brant and Brooks Faust and Hunter Wind; brother Tom Faust (Kay) and Sisters-in-law Joanne Faust, Pat Pahl and Kathleen (Leonard) Woida and other family and friends
Dad was born on June 7, 1928, while the family lived in Superior, WI. In 1940, the family first moved to Fond du Lac, WI where dad began 7th grade, then to St. Anthony Village and finally to NE Minneapolis. Dad completed grade school at St. Charles Borromeo, then enrolled at DeLaSalle high school where he excelled both in and out of the classroom. Dad was a National Honor Society member and was proud to have been a member of the 1944 State Catholic Championship basketball team. Dad also experienced success on the baseball diamond as a pitcher while at DeLaSalle, success that would later earn him an invitation to a tryout with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1946. Dad attended Nazareth Hall Seminary where he completed his last two years of high school and his first year of college. Dad served the Army in Korea as a Chauffeur for the Head of Headquarters Company. Dad ended his military tour in February, 1948, as a Private First Class.
Dad remained active in baseball following his Army discharge. During this time, he met his future wife (Ruth) while playing town baseball for Orchard Lake with her brother, Roger Pahl, whom dad knew from DeLaSalle. When dad and mom were married on December 30, 1950, dad was a traveling salesman for the Quaker Oats company. Dad left Quaker Oats in 1951 and worked at Northern States Power for the next 35 years, retiring from there in 1985.
Dad and mom continued to be active in many ways at DeLaSalle while their four sons and one daughter attended there during the 1970s. Their support of the school continued for many years and in 1996, dad and mom received the Lasallian award from DeLaSalle in recognition of their work at and support of the school.
