Blanche Hanshew passed away at the age of 97, on April 23, 2013 at the Cove’s Edge Nursing Home in Damariscotta. Born on September 1, 1915 in Toqua Township, MN, she was the daughter of Carl and Katherine Wold. She moved west to California as a young woman, where she married Marion Hanshew and raised a family. In her latter years she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Butch Long, in Damariscotta. She is survived by her three children, Ronald Hanshew, Marlene Long, and Dennis Hanshew; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. She was a gentle, kind and loving person, and touched many people with her grace. She will be dearly missed by all.
