Mr. Billy Joe Carter, 80, of New Florence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at his residence.

Mr. Carter was born in New Florence, Missouri on March 16, 1930, the son of the late Arthur Barnes and Flossie (Dixon) Carter.

He was the husband of Jacqueline D. (Neubauer) Carter. They were married April 7, 1951 at New Florence Methodist Church, she survives in New Florence.

Billy is also survived by his three children, son Kevin Carter of Montgomery City, daughter Becky Lichtenberg & husband Mike of Montgomery City and son Eric Carter & wife Janice of New Florence, sister Carol Worley & husband Dave of New Florence, sister Barbara Stuart & husband Sidney of Holts Summit, sister Joyce Carter of High Hill, brother David Carter & wife Barbara of LaPlatta, Missouri, sister Nina Edmonds of High Hill, sister Phyllis Gonos & husband Bob of Binghampton, New York, brother Kenneth Carter & wife Wanda of Troy, Missouri, sister Mary Crouch & husband Bob of Mineola, sister Gayle Carter-Cuno of St. Louis, brother Sidney Carter & wife Layna of Columbia, seven grandchildren Aleshia & Brandon Carter, Brittany & Brady Lichtenberg and Kendall, Kyle & Gabrielle Carter and two great grandchildren Alexia Carter & Blake Danter. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Lee & Darrell Ray Carter.

He was a member of New Florence United Methodist Church, New Florence, Missouri, the Mid-Mo Shrine Club of Montgomery City, Daggett Lodge 492 of McKittrick and he was the past president of Old Settlers Picnic Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was the plant manager at Christy Minerals at High Hill where he worked for over 30 years. He also owned and operated Carter Trucking .
