Beverly J. Hicks
Beverly J. Hicks of Saranac passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 5, 2013. She was born in Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd J. Kenney Sr. and Pearl M. Ritchie on January 9, 1931.
She attended Ionia schools and went to work in her sophomore year. She went back to school in 1972 and received her high school diploma.
She married Durward O. Hicks in 1953 who preceded her in death in 1981. Also, preceding her in death were her daughter Linda Sue Hicks, mother Pearl Lincoln, and brothers Richard Kenney and Floyd Kenney Jr.
Beverly is survived by daughters Pamela Hicks (Chris) of Tucson, AZ and Elizabeth (Gregory) Tobias of Sunfield and by sons William (Laura) of Cave Creek, AZ and Timothy (Angel) of Greenville. Also surviving are her sister Alice (Don) Jones of Ionia, grandchildren Weston, Tyler, Madison, Cole, Nathaniel (Melissa), Clinton (Angie), and Amanda (Rick), great-grandchildren are Dylan, Brianna, Derek, Jeremiah, Lillian, Isaiah, Wyatt and Hadley and numerous nieces and nephews.
Beverly enjoyed an active life with family and friends. She loved reading, swimming, dancing and playing cards. She derived great pleasure from volunteering at the VFW, Moose, and First Christian Church.
