She retired from Portland Housing Authority after 22 years, a job she was recommended to apply for by a member of the maintenance department who saw the work she did with her children and friends to keep the playgrounds clean while living in Riverton Park. She worked for PHA maintenance for the first five years and then moved into an office position until she retired. While living in Riverton she also organized a basketball team for teenage boys in the community to give them something to strive for and try to help keep them out of trouble.
Beverly was a kind and caring person who loved her family and friends. Her home was a safe haven for anyone who needed it and her door was always open. She would never hesitate to tell you her opinion and always gave sound advice. She always offered care and comfort for those who sought it and was a defender for those who could not defend themselves. Beverly will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
