Betty L. (Kibbey) Bandfield Bender from Portland passed away December 25, 2014. She was the daughter of Carlton and Frances (Jenkins) Kibbey, and was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Maxine Blundy and Vivian Wall, and her brother William Kibbey. Betty was married in 1941 to her first husband, Arthur Bandfield, who died in 1985. She married her second husband, Ward Bender, in 1988 and he passed away in 2010. Betty is survived by her children: Bettylou Leavitt, Jeanette (Joe) Thelen, Connie (Sam) Mitchell, Jim (Holly) Bandfield and Darlene (Hank) Gingrich; 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Betty retired as a civilian employee from the Michigan Air National Guard in 1986. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Portland United Methodist Church.
