Age 82, loving mother and grandmother passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2009. She was born on November 7, 1926 in Lansing the daughter of Frank and Opal (Barnes) Krapf. Betty was a resident of Eaton County the majority of her life and loved to play bingo and watch the game show network and cooking shows. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Byron; children, Jimmy Phinney and infant sons, Ricky and Richie Phinney; brother, Robert Krapt and sister, Joan Vanalstine. Surviving are her children, Thomas (Marie) Phinney of Charlotte, Michael (Rebecca) Phinney of Oklahoma City, OK, Patty Vanalstine of Lansing, Marilyn Snell of Indiana, Joyce (Walter) Eldridge of Texas, Janie (Cliff) Jimmerson of Texas, Janet (Ralph) Wheeler of Ohio, Cindy (Gary) Priest of Lansing, Debra Phinney of Battle Creek, and Evelyn Hoffman of Portland; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Goldie) Krapf of Washington; several nieces and nephews.
