Betty Jean (Hollie) Silverberg made the transition from her physical existence here on earth to her eternal life in Heaven with God the Father, the Blessed Virgin Mary and Our Lord Jesus Christ on January 29, 2023. She was anointed with the sacrament of the sick, the Last Rites of the Catholic Church.  

She was born August 19, 1932, the oldest of 6 children born to Edward and Nellie (Langley) Hollie. Although raised Baptist, when she married the love of her life, Richard Silverberg in 1952, she vowed to raise their children in the Catholic faith. She gave birth to their four children in 1954, 1956, 1958, and 1959, all were baptized and raised Catholic. While raising four children, and working, she took catechism lessons and converted to Catholicism. On their 20th anniversary when they renewed their vows she surprised Richard by receiving her First Holy Communion. From then on, she was a devout Catholic who prayed for her family every day of her life.    

She was passionate about ‘her’ St Louis Cardinals, her 4-legged fur babies, ice cream, quilting &  family (Yes, in that order!). No one dared come between her and her Cards! Her favorite pastime was cheering on ‘the greatest baseball team in the world!

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nellie, an older half-brother, Glenn Hollie, a younger brother, Jack Hollie, a younger sister, Mary (Hollie) Stevens, her husband, of 61 years, Richard in 2013, her oldest son, Louis Silverberg in 2014, her youngest daughter, Holly (Silverberg) Forbeck in 2016, and her oldest, grandson, Larry Pruiett. 

Betty is survived by her brother Tom (& Doris) Hollie, her brother Bob (& Donna) Hollie, her sister Sharon (Hollie) Robinson, her brother-in-law Danny (Mary Hollie) Stevens and many nieces, nephews and greats.  Betty is survived by her oldest daughter Debbie (Silverberg) Koebel,  grandson Frank Koebel and his daughters, Alexandria, and Sophia Koebel, grandson Mathew Koebel and his daughter, EllieMae. She is also survived by Louis’s oldest son, Bryan (& Amanda) Silverberg and great-grandkids Taylor, Bryan & Rory,  Lou’s middle son, Tim (& Heather) Silverberg and great-grandkids Riley & Reese, and Lou’s youngest son Scott (& Tayler) Silverberg.  Betty is survived also by her  youngest son Paul (& Kathy) Silverberg, grandson Brandon (& Stephanie) Silverberg and great-grandkids Caitlin and Torin, Eddie (Bridget) Schaub and great-grandkids Georgia and Hogan,  granddaughter Elizabeth (& Neil) Fredrick and great-grandkids Christopher, Aiden and Genevieve, and granddaughter Connie (& Tim) Jackson and great-grandkids, River and Charlotte.
