Betty Jean Hauta, age 84 of Spirit Lake passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 in the Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. She was born September 12, 1929 in Ladysmith, WI the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Young) Krisik. Betty grew up working on the family dairy farm, and married Donlee Ward Hauta on November 29, 1950; Tony, WI. They moved to their home on Spirit Lake in 1950 and raised their family. Betty was a hard working homemaker who loved polka music and dancing, being outside, feeding birds and deer, and especially enjoyed her time with the “coffee ladies”. She was known for being always happy and cherished time spent with her family.
Betty is survived by children: Daniel Hauta of Minneapolis, Linda (Tom) Peterson of Big Lake, Darlene (Kay) Hauta of Fort White, FL, Larry (Sandy) Hauta of Mt. Iron, and Bev (Doug) Seppala of Hibbing; siblings: Irene Minter of Brimson, Patsy (Bob) Phillips of Rice Lake, WI, Jerry (Ann) Krisik of Amery, WI and Kathleen (Duane) Taylor of Bruce, WI; grandchildren: Theresa, Keith, Christina, Brooke, Tiffani, Rylee, Kenny, Krissy, and Khai; great grandchildren: Erica, Hunter, Austin, Madilyn, Alaina, Samantha, Maddison, Liam, and Eli; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including her best friend: Barb Christianson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Donlee; and siblings: Ellen Howard, “Jack” Krisik, Glen Krisik, and Margaret Fulton.
