Betty E. Detwiler of Denton, MD departed this life on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the Compass Regional Hospice in Centreville, MD. She was 91 years old.
Born in Cambridge, Mrs. Detwiler was the daughter of the late Julian Calvert Edgar and Mabel Paul Edgar. She was a 1950 graduate of Easton High School. Betty was a member of St. Luke’s UMC, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 29, and VFW Auxiliary of the former Post 7937. In her working life, Mrs.
Betty is survived by three daughters: Brenda Harris (Ronald) of Denton, Barbara Beaudet, and Judy Cook (Keith) of Denton; son, Michael Judge (Brenda) of Harrington, DE; eight grandchildren: Rhonda Passwaters, Becky Harris, Julius Beaudet, A’lahna Beaudet, Lydia Judge, Liz Davis (Ben), Amanda Bozarth (Sam), and Nicole Cook, six great-grandchildren: Steven, Sierra, Jay, Tristan, Tanner, and Ivy; and one great-great-grandchild, Jay. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Detwiler; brother, Julian C. Edgar, Jr.; and four sisters: Myrtle Milligan, Marie Braswell, Doris Edgar, and Edith Harding.
