Betty Catherine Vickers Mohesky, nee Terry, of Steelville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 80 years. She was born March 1, 1932 in Stoddard County, Missouri to John Terry and Marie Mary (Henderson) Terry. On November 13, 1948 in St. Louis, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Vickers and to this union four children were born. He preceded her in death in 2002. She was later united in marriage to Bob Mohesky on May 23, 2009.
While living in St.
Betty was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Steelville, a member of the Parish Council and Ladies Guild at St. Michael’s and a member of TOPS. She was a past president of the Steelville Ambulance Board. She loved fishing and would always try to out-fish Bob. She enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, softball, bowling, crocheting and having a big garden each spring. During retirement, she had time to use her artistic talents and enjoy painting. Betty was a caring person to family and friends, a loving mother and a protector of all.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Bob Mohesky of Steelville, MO; two sons Terry Vickers and wife Linda and Alan Vickers and wife Jeannie all of Sullivan, MO; two daughters Susan Dwyer and husband Dennis of Rio Rancho, NM and Sharon Simpson and husband Bob of North Richland Hills, TX; twelve grandchildren Teri, Beth, Elaine, Kevin, Tom, Shannon, Sarah, Shawn, Kate, Jeff, Tara and Jessica; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Lou Mohesky of St. Louis, MO; special aunt, Edith Love of Steelville, MO; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bill Vickers; one brother Ed Terry and wife Donna.
The family received friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
