Betty A. Wilson, 86, of Portland, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at the Barron Center. Betty was the daughter of Paul and Rose Heward Anderson
.
Betty was born Oct. 24, 1928 and grew up in Westbrook where she attended Westbrook schools. In 1950 she married Charles J. Wilson and they’ve been married 65 years.
Betty worked for many years making custom draperies at home. She was a Girl Scout leader and involved in boy scouts with her husband for over 50 years. She worked many years at Camp William Hinds with the Cub/Boy Scouts. She made the first Camp Hinds flags. In 1992 she received the Silver Beaver Award, one of the highest awards in scouting.
