Betty A. Beem, formerly of Westbrook, died July 20, 2013, in Yarmouth.
Betty was born December 14, 1922 in Bath, Maine, and was the daughter of Paul M. and Mildred M. Gibson of Portland. She graduated from Deering High School in 1940. She then studied early childhood education at Westbrook Junior College (Class of 1942) and Lesley College (Class of 1945).
In 1948, Betty married E. Allen Beem, Jr., also of Portland. The Beems raised three sons together – Ed, Paul and Dana.
