Obituary
Bernice E. Wiss passed away on October 5, 2018 at the age of 90 quietly in her sleep in the the family home where she was born 90 years earlier. It was her request that she live in her home till the end of her life. Her family worked hard to make that wish come true. Bernice was born January 6, 1928, to John Baumann and Annie (Pottebaum) Baumann. Her mother passed away when she was only three years old. Bernice was raised by her father, with assistance from his lady friends, uncles, neighbors, and a special school teacher, who picked her up every day and took her to and from school. Bernice worked in Warrenton at Eli Walker for a few years. She married Calvin Wiss on November 16, 1946, when he returned home from the war. She devoted the rest of her life to her husband, three sons, and grandchildren. Bernice loved country music, and enjoyed going to dances with her friends. She enjoyed playing Pinochle, gardening and listening to the radio (especially the chapel report). She loved talking on the phone with her girlfriends. Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and, Annie Baumann, her husband, Calvin Wiss and her son, Kenny Wiss. She is survived by her two sons, Roger Wiss and his wife Pam, Wiss, Ronnie Wiss and his wife Shirley; grandson, Jeremy Wiss and his wife Becky; a granddaughter, Helen Hall, great-grandchildren, Savanah Miller, Dakota Miller, Alexa Miller, Emily Wiss, Ryan Wiss all of Warrenton.
