Age 89, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009. She was born on May 24, 1920 in Bushnell Township, MI the daughter of Fred and Roxie (Park) Edwards. Mrs. Hammond graduated from Sheridan High School and worked for Ypsilanti-Reed for 19 years. She then went on to retire from the State of Michigan Department of Transportation in 1987. She married Kenneth Hammond on June 25, 1937 in Palo and he preceded her in death in 2005. Also preceding her in death were a granddaughter, Melissa Sue Dingee, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Surviving are her daughters, Patrecia (Robert) Bradford of Lakeland, FL, Connie Chick of Ionia, Cathy (Tom) Lowell of Wacousta, MI, and Christine (Jeff) Dingee of Grand Ledge; 1 son, Bob Hammond of Ionia; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
