Mr. Allen was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre in the United States Army, and received 2 bronze stars, a silver star, and the purple heart. He retired from the United States Postal Service in Lansing after many years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Earl, Willard and Bill Allen. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Donna Allen of Grand Rapids; 3 sons, Barry (Sharla) Allen of Rockford, Lonnie (Beth) Allen of Gleney, MI and Scott (Cindy) Allen of Lansing, MI; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Allen of Cleveland, TN; nieces and nephews.
