Beatrice Rose Lokey was born on May 30, 1926 in Wynn, Arkansas. Her mother was Rachel Cogbil and her father was Forrest Cogbil. When her mother passed at an early age, Beatrice and her brothers were raised by her mother’s relatives. She came to Detroit at the age of three, then she returned to Arkansas. She supported herself as a nightclub singer. At the age of 26, she married William Lokey. She was well known in show business as the owner of Catrina the talking cat. Madison Martin was the producer of the show on Barden Cable. She was a landlord of several apartments since 1954. She loved her properties and took good care of them. Later in life she had many health problems which caused her to be placed in a nursing home where she remained until her death on March 22, 2018. She leaves to mourn her passing: close friend Madison Martin.
